GAME OF THE WEEK: Kansas State @ TCU

Fresh off a bye week, the Wildcats travel to Ft. Worth to take on TCU, who narrowly escaped last week with a 43-40 win in overtime vs. Oklahoma State. The undefeated Horned Frogs are averaging over 525 yards of offense per game this year, with QB Max Duggan leading the way. Kansas State has utilized QB Adrian Martinez’s dual threat abilities to near perfection, which has led them to a 5-1 record to start the year.

Adrian Martinez

♣The 5th-year transfer from Nebraska has quietly had a great season, accounting for 1,457 all-purpose yards and 13 total TDs (4 passing, 9 rushing). While his numbers aren’t Heisman worthy, Martinez has grown significantly since transferring to Kansas State. Martinez has yet to throw an interception this year, after throwing 30 in 4 years at Nebraska. While he likely won’t be a Day 1 draft pick next April, Adrian Martinez has proven that he can play at an elite level with the right coaching staff.

Max Duggan

♣TCU quarterback Max Duggan is having a great season, accounting for nearly 1,600 passing yards and tying a single-season career-high in TD passes, with 16. Duggan has led the Horned Frogs to a 6-0 record and sole possession of first in the Big 12 so far this year. Look for Duggan to lead the Horned Frogs to a high-profile bowl game this postseason.

As good as TCU has been to start the year, I have Kansas State winning this matchup, 31-28.
